Have you ever had one of those jobs, where your boss was looking over your shoulder? Many of us have. But the thing here is that because you had your boss looking over your shoulder, you were more productive.
Why, because you were accountable for your actions. You had to finish that job, or your boss would chew your ass off.
Without the boss looking over our shoulders we would probably be goofing off, taking our time, checking our friends status on Facebook or checking the latest video that just went viral on Youtube.
That’s what sometimes happens in our training, especially in the gym. If you’re not accountable for your actions, you might be tempted to goof off, not take your training serious or even worse, you might decide to skip training on that day.
Another thing that occurs in gyms is that there are too many distractions going on; people walking around, people talking, TV’s, loud music, etc.
I used to go to this gym where I had to avoid a certain friend of mine when I saw her. She always wanted to stop me and want to catch up on the latest gossip, reducing my workout to only 30 minutes instead of one hour.
Hiring a personal trainer can give you the accountability you need to stick to your promise and the focus to help you move towards your fitness goals.
Two of the greatest advantages of having a personal trainer are; 1) it motivates you to workout and 2) it forces you to be accountable. Those are the main reasons why people who train with personal trainers get RESULTS.
When you train with a trainer, there are no distractions, just total concentration on your fitness program.
In my competition days in Martial arts, I always trained with a personal trainer just right before a big competition. It gave me that extra push that I needed.
I would arrive at the school, and my personal trainer already had a full routine prepared for me to help me work on my weakness. A lot of my victories in a competition where due to the use of a personal trainer.
Here is another interesting example: U.S. Olympic short track speed skater Apolo Ohno, hired his personal trainer to live with him full time when he was training for the last winter Olympics. Talk about accountability 24 hours a day.
So get out there and get a personal trainer, and you will see results in your training.
